OS differences

I have always operated win98 (95). I am considering installing win2k. What are the major differences in everyday operation between the two? I have purchased 768mb of ddram and would like to install all of it.(didn't realise win98 can only use 512)

Front the look itself it doesn't differ that much - but under the hood it's a complete differend thing..
Win2k ins't a gaming OS - so there may be the one or other game which will not run -
Major differences are
1.It's fast - after you have tweaked it somewhat..
2.It's safe
3.It's stable as a rock
4.It's really the thing you can call mutlitasking - otherise try to format a floppy in win98 and the same time editing a 100 Mb picture - and paly some Mp3 stuff on top then you will know what I mean

After using OS's on the NT kernal (2k mostly, XP) for the past 6 months, I really can't imagine going back to Windows 9x/Me. It's just an much better experiance, far more stable, more deep tweaking if you're into that stuff. I now dual-boot between 2k/XP pro, but I use 2k day-to-day. I'm also a die-hard gamer, and only one of my games, The Sims, doesn't run on 2k. I don't like it much anyway

I've never had any problems with WinME, but I currently have WinXP on this system and won't go back.
