Help!
At some point after installing Internet Explorer 5.5, I've found that when I click Tools on the main menu, then Internet Options, I get the message: Restrictions: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your systems administrator. I just don't get it. I'm running a home computer with Windows 98SE, and it has never been in a network. Can anyone out there help me to reactive Internet Options? I've since installed Internet Explorer 6, but this hasn't made any difference. |

Try this. With all IE browsers windows closed click start--run--type regedit and click ok. Doubleclick on each of these:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions Open the Restictions key and look for NoBrowserOptions in the right pane and delete it. Then close regedit and restart the computer. It should work properly then. Last edited by Kento; 02-23-2002 at 04:07 AM. |

Kento - in case u revisit this page, many, many thanks for your help. I was a bit nervy about doing anything to Registry, so I backed it up just in case. Anyway, you were spot on - if you're ever in this neck of the woods, I'll buy you a drink! thanks again.
