Windows 2000 Installation Trouble
I have repeatedly tried to load 2000 and continue to get messages saying: cannot copy file so and so file may be corrupted or disc may be bad. I have tried loading off of a borrowed disc also these are not burned copies. I have tried changing all hardware in my machine to the point that I have completely rebuilt the machine with all new hardware. I have tried rebooting everytime it hangs up on the install because they say 2000 learns from its mistakes, mine doesnt. I have taken the machine to a repair shop and still cannot get clean load. I have checked the IDE settings to make sure they were correct and according to 2000 help they are setup the way they want them. I have had the machine up and running with the missing files but anything I try to load I get the same error messages about being unable to copy some files. I have also tried doing the windows repair after getting it loaded no help there either. I am now lost as to what to try next. I am not very computer savvy so i get lost easy please excuse me if I dont understand your answer and ask more questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am running: My original setup: 1Gig intel celeron 1 gig intel celeron DFI Motherboard CA64-TC (onboard sound) Abit sa6r motherboard Nvidia TNT Vid card onboard sound and video Diamond Supra 56 K modem |

It appears that you may have some corrupted files on your system drive. You might go the the Microsoft knowledge base and try to input the exact error message you get. They may have a solution.
Have you installed Windows 2000 service pack 2? |

Roberto, thank you for the reply.
I have beent to the knowledge base and tried there but was unable to find anything. I have not loaded the service pack. I just went to the microsoft website and read about the service pack not sure I understand everything it does but I will give it a try hopefully that will cure my problems.
