Game Installation Prob on XP

Hey guys....got a problem with WinXP and one particular game. When I try to load the game Bejeweled on my WinXP machines, I get the following error:
"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect; Re-installing the application may fix this problem".
Now, I have no problem installing this game on my Win2000 PC's, ME or regular 98 (I have a Network with many various OS's). However, when I go to load this game on my 2 XP machines that I have, I get this error, which leads me to believe it has something to do with XP. I set myself up as the administrator of both PC's ( I did not set up multiple profiles on them ), so I'm installing as administrator. I have no problems loading any games but this one. I'm just baffled by this somewhat. Even though it says toward the end "...re-installing the application may fix the problem..." the game was never installed!
The game's website (Popcap Games) offer no answers. Any body out there run into problems like this installing any apps or games? Anybody out there play "Bejeweled?" on XP?

install the game then apply the game patch.....

or

put mosue on start/right click/explorer/go to cr-rom drive and install from there.
