After installing Windows XP Home (new install), my drive designations are goofy. It lists my hard drive (formatted as NTSF - single partition) as Drive F. It lists the Memory Stick portion of my Sony CD-R with Memory Stick (removable media) as Drive C, my DVD as Drive D, and my CD-R as Drive E. I tried to change the drive designations, but it wouldn’t let me change Drive C (the Memory Stick) stating that it was the boot volume (although it isn’t).
How did this happen and how do I change it? Thanks for all suggestions. ____________________________________ Antec 1040X case w/ PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool 425 ATX Windows XP Home (new install) Soyo Dragon+ Athlon 1800+ Thermalright SK6 w/ Delta fan Case fans [Antec (x2) / Enermax (x2) 512 Mb Corsair PC2100 DDR (1 stick) ATI Radeon 8500 Western Digital 60 Gb [on IDE 1] Sony CRX175 CD-RW w/Memory Stick [on IDE 2 – per Sony Memory Stick will act as slave] Asus 16x DVD [on IDE 3 - non-RAID] |

I dont know about changing what XP has done, but my install has my CDRW as D: and the hard drive is C,E,F,G,H, it is one drive partitioned up. I prefer to let XP have its own way....
