A friend of mine went to turn on his computer he got the POST beeps but when it went to run Win. Me he got a message that he would have to run a trough Scan disk. We tried that and 6 hours later we still had 900K to do . Then I tried useing his Me. boot disk but it would not work. Then we tried to use the Maxtor Disk he got with the hard drive and that would not work. Any Ideas.

Using the boot disc and the windows cd rom, run c:/scanreg/restore ( where c:/ is your hard disc ) in ms-dos mode.
I think this will fix the problem. |

I think your hard drive is going to die - download the MAXBLAST utility from the maxtor website - make the floppy disk with it - then insert the disk boot the computer and run the utility - this will exactly let you know what has happen.. WinME doesn't support DOS MODE -
