Want modem to dial without dialing tone?
Hi
Our phone line is making a strange noise but you can still dial out. My modem won't dial out as it waits for a dial tone. I remember in Win98 how I set the modem so it dialled regardless of whether there was a dial tone or not. I cannot find the settings in Windows XP? Can anyone help me? Thanks Haggis |

As Hpro says uncheck the "Wait for dialtone" box under modem properties in control panel but get BT (or whoever) to fix the noise on the phoneline pronto as your dial-up won't be worth **** with noise on the line.
