Question Want modem to dial without dialing tone?

Hi

Our phone line is making a strange noise but you can still dial out. My modem won't dial out as it waits for a dial tone. I remember in Win98 how I set the modem so it dialled regardless of whether there was a dial tone or not.

I cannot find the settings in Windows XP? Can anyone help me?

Thanks
Haggis

As Hpro says uncheck the "Wait for dialtone" box under modem properties in control panel but get BT (or whoever) to fix the noise on the phoneline pronto as your dial-up won't be worth **** with noise on the line.
