Unhappy Monitor help-brightness plz..

Hey everyone..just bought a dell c600 laptop and i like it but one prob.. I can't figure out how to change the monitor brightness... it's not that bad but I would like to know how. I checked in control panel->display and checked all those tabs, but it just has screen resolution and # of colors in there...no brightness/gamma etc.. If anyone could help, I would be grateful. Thanks.

I think you need to press the FCN KEY and then one on the function keys on the top line of your keyboard..

(I don't know your model have never used it so I can be possibly wrong with my advice - but most laptops using this way unless there is a slider or scroll wheel)

As usual, Hpro is right on. Brightness and contrast can be controlled with FCN + arrow keys. You can also adjust your brightness level in the power management options of the BIOS. Typically, when on battery power, the default brightness is set to a minimum to maximize battery life. Sometimes this setting is so dim it is almost impossible to see the screen.
