Question Which is the best application that frees up MEMORY??

Which is the best application that frees up MEMORY??

There are so many freewares that claim to free up RAM/ Memory and increase computer performance.

1. Is this possible?

2. How is this done?

3. Which is the best product out there for this?

Thank you!!

I personally don't use them, but there are a couple on this site that you can download. And since it seems to be ran by computer types they are probably pretty good.

Win9X doesn't manage memory very well, so if you are using one of those OSs then one of the easiest ways to help with the memory problem is to reboot the computer every few hours or so.

You did not say what version of windows you are using or how much ram you have. The best solution may be to just put in some more ram. It is a low cost way to boost performance all around.
Win xp is a real ram hog. Needs at minimum 256 and runs better with more

1. yes, it is possible.
2. the applications optimise the disk cache and other settings.
3. cacheman

i've been using cacheman for 1 and a half years and it really improves system performance.
