Is it XP or me?

I've got two systems, one is a 733 running Win 98. The other is a 900 running XP. Is it just me, but it seems the 733 runs faster. My 900 won't even let me run games with out frames jumping. Is there something I can do to XP to help? Both systems have 128 RAM. I don't understand.

WinXP runs better with 256MB since it has more "extras", so in your case Win98 should run faster on those systems.

More memory, roger, got it. Thanks. Anything else? I heard you can "turn off" some of these extras.

Send a message via AIM to Orcmonkey
Right click on my computer and go to properties.... Somewhere in there (been a while since i've used XP) is a PERFORMANCE menu, here you can disable all those performance eating yet visually stimulating aspects of the OS.

I went to www.tweakxp.com and found all kinds of useful stuff and tweaked the s**t out of XP and found my system runs a lot faster and lot smoother too.

Also check out this site www.blkviper.com and click on WinXP services>Service Configuration, and learn how to disable all those services most of us will never use. I found that using information from both sites made my system run faster and actually saved on memory.
