About all you get with a retail version of XP is a fancy box and a worthless little book. Go with the OEM version.

I just purchased the OEM full version of WIN XP PRO for my computer build and didn't have one problem. I saved a lot of money by going this route through NewEgg.

Agreed, OEM is definately the way to go. Why pay 50 bucks more for a box that gets recycled.

Cool

What can I add to what has already been said?
Chas
PS
I installed and run XP Pro OEM without any problems.

The only difference that's significant is that you cannot get support from M$ on the OEM version, you must get support through your vendor. Essentially this means you are on your own.

Well, he can always ask the Forum. Besides, how many times did you actually get any support from Microsoft?
