I have an NT 4.0 SP 4 system that has a 8.45 GB hard dirve that has been partitioned into 4 volumes, C: through F:. The last three are empty and appear to have never been used.
What is the easy and safe way to eliminate the three unused partitions, D: through F:? Thanks!!!! |

To keep the current data that is on the drive you'll have to purchase a program like Partition Magic. (about $75us) There are a few freebies on the internet. Maybe someone will post a link..

Can't you just go into fdisk and delete the 3 unwanted partitions? Someone shut me up quickly if I'm wrong.

Negative. Fdisking will erase the current partition. You can't manipulate partitions with fdisk, after an OS is installed or after you have already created partitions.
IMHO, if you are going to spend the $$ for Partition Magic, why not spend it on this instead? A few dollars more, has better disk tools than Partition Magic, and you can add any OS anytime you want. |

I agree with BFD here (again). I use System Commander and it is a really great program. Definately worth the $$$.
