Win2k - Log off - modem conection drops down !!
In Win2k with service pack 1 , login in as administrator , i was making my dial up internet connection and even if i was instandly log off , the conection was still alive .
From the service pack 2 and after , any time that i log off ,the dial up conection drops down too . Is any way to log off with out my internet conection to drops down ?? I can not think any win2k service , that needs any settings to cure that , or any other Win2k interface settings . That will keep alive my internet dial up connection ,even if no user is loget in !! Any ideas ? |

Your request is not clear
Windows 2000 will not allow a Dial-UP Networking connection to remain connected when a user 'logs off' from their user profile - i.e. from the Start > Shut Down > Log off username option.
This is by design. Windows XP has the USER switching capability, but not Windows 2000. You can, however, make Windows 2000 programs run-as another username. Right click on the IE or program shortcut and selet "Run As another User". You may be able to force 2000 to act like XP with user switching by your own modifications, but you will probably need XP to benchmark your quest.
