Going to reformat and upgrade to XP

Hi everyone,

I'm about ready to reformat my hard drive. I've got just about all the files off that I need. I have 98se on the machine now. I'm going to reformat and upgrade to XP. I bought the upgrade XP Home version. I posted before about this and I remember someone saying that I could set the BIOS to boot from D: and boot up from the XP cd. Is this possible with the upgrade disk? Or do I reformat with 98se and then upgrade to XP? I suppose I just need to know the procedure for reformatting a hard drive. It's been forever since I did it. I'd even have to get a new boot disk. I used to have a printed version of something I got online to do it, but do you think I can find it?! I have downloaded XP drivers as well. Hope I have all I need.

Thankx,
Dave

You'll boot to the XP upgrade CD. Eventually it will ask for the previous OS, pop your win98 CD in the drive. It will locate it and tell you to place the XP CD back in there. Nothing to it.

Also you can format the HD or partition during the install.
