Is XP Home Edition a More Forgiving Gaming OS than XP Pro??
I was told by a pc salesman (not a pc expert) that XP Home edition is a better gaming operating system than XP Pro . He said that because XP Pro is designed for business users it may not run all games as smoothly as XP Home Edition.
I thought they were the same OS basically except XP Pro has more features than XP Home. But they are both using the same kernel aren't they?? Was this salesman full of B.S. about the OS?? What I'm asking is : If I have trouble running a game with XP Pro, will XP Home edition make it run any better?? Thanks in advance

No, for gaming, they will be the same. There isn't really any advantage to going with Pro though unless you need to join a domain.

Go with your gut feeling. The saleperson was probably thinking to himself "Pro = business = no games, therefore Home = better for games" without really bothering to know what he is talking about. You are right, the kernel the the same, Pro just has more features turned on, it won't affect gaming.
