Philips CD burner with XP
If I remember correctly when I installed my Philips CD burner in my old computer two years ago, that was running Me, all I did was: actually install the unit (making sure of the jumper), and loading the software that came with it, which was Easy CD Creator, and Direct CD. I already know that XP does not like those programs, but is supposed to have a small program built right in to burn CD's. So my first question is 1- do I just install the burner, and XP will recognize it ? 2-what is the name of the program built into XP to burn CD's, and where do I find it ? Also,
When I got the new computer, it came with a CD that had drivers and extra software on it. One of those programs I think was called CD Ghost. It also apperas to be a CD burning program ?? Thanks, Mike

To avoid hassles, I would personally install Nero for doing your CD burning.

The software for XP is integrated into the system. You just right click on the files you want to burn, select Send To > CD-Writer. It will then put an icon in your system tray that you click on when you are ready to burn them to the CD.
