Post WIN2K won't see the data on a FAT32 drive.....

Hi,
Kind of an odd issue. Win2k was working fine for months and then it started to see / not see the data on my fat32 drive. I've got SP2 and the other patches from Update.

The drive in question is 20GB. Win2k see it as an unformatted drive and labels it 'local disk' in disk maintenance. However if I boot from a 95 bootdisk I can see all the info and all my data is there.

Is was all fine then Win2k just refused to see that there was data on the drive. Keeps asking me to format the disk when I access it.....

Any ideas? Perhaps if I slave the drive to a 95/98 I'll be able to see the drive?? This is my backups drive and not being able to back stuff up to it is worrying....

Thanks

Declan (aka fredwest )
