Flash player download problem

Please help!

I am trying to download Flash player onto a machine using Win 2000 pro. I need it to view web pages using flash.

I have gone to the Macromedia website and tried to download it but I just get the page loading up saying it is downloading, but it has a red cross in the box where it is meant to be playing the movie. it stays like this and doesn't do anything.

Is there something I need to change in the security settings of my browser (IE 5) or is it something else.

I have managed to down load this before on a different machine without a problem.
