xp - java virtual machine...

Hi,
I have windows XP Home and just installed a plug-in for winamp that needs Java Virtual Machine. I searched on google for the download and Microsoft no longer has it on their site and does not include it in an update. I went to download.com and found the download, but read the reviews first. In the reviews many people stated that VM screwed up with XP and caused all sorts of problems. I am wondering if there is a safe version out there or is a way to make it run properely in XP. Thanks for your help.

Why not use the authentic one from Sun? Works for me.

Also, from what I have read, XP Service Pack 1 will return Java support.
