how to uninstall win98??

so i turn off all my programs and want to uninstall win98 due to my directx problems....(i like to solve a problem by bringing everything back fresh) and under add/remove programs uninstall win98 i click and it says it will scan my disk first and after scanning it prompted me to continue and i did and it went to a blank screen with a blinking underscore in the upper left corner and i thought i was going into a uninstall screen but it sat there for a long time (15-20 minutes)

anyone come across this before?

whats another way of uninstalling....perhaps from DOS?

thanks!

Hi,

no need to uninstall Win98. If you want to re-install, just clean the hard drive and install Win98 again.

Boot from the Windows 98 CD, change to the Win98 subfolder, and type in

format C:

C: will be formatted (all data will be gone). After that, you can install Win98 again.

If you want to format, don't forget to copy important files to another drive, or burn them on a CD (if you can).
