For some reason a drive called A:/ has appeared in "My Computer", in Control Panel it is said to be using "MS-DOS compatibility mode file system". Since the floppy drive is meant to be the A: drive (also I have a Removeable drive E:/) it has now been moved to the E: drive, my removeable is now the F: drive, my HD is still the C: drive, and my CD/DVD is still the D: drive.
Before: A:/ - Floppy Drive C:/ - Hard Disk D:/ - CD/DVD Drive E:/ - Removable Drive Now: A:/ - UNKNOWN DRIVE (Ms-Dos compatibility mode. . .) C:/ - Hard Disk D:/ - CD/DVD Drive E:/ - Floppy Drive F:/ - Removable Drive What I would like to do is remove the new (unwanted) A:/ drive, (without having to lose any data in other drives). And then hopefully return the drive letters to as they were before. Any Suggestions??? Shiraz Z COMPUTER - PII 400Mhz, ATI Rage Pro LS120 Drive, 9GB Hard Disk, Sandisk Smartmedia Drive, Samsung DVD Drive. Please E-Mail for any other Computer info needed. |
