Help - XP install Problems
i set up 2 computers with xp - the one for a friend was a breeze
but mine of course was a nightmare how do you get XP to see the promise raid on the abit motherboard - abit doesnt give you a floppy driver to install during setup - the cd doesnt have a driver that can be set up in dos - XP only looks for a floppy drive i even tried booting with a 98 floppy same problems i finally took the hard drive off the chain and put on the ide controller - i hope if i switch it back to the raid things will work will switching it back work and how should i have handled the install???? your help is appreciated as always - thanks

Abit's RAID drivers are on the CD. They can be extracted to floppy just for this purpose (RTFM!).
Hit F7 when prompted to install 3rd party drivers, and you should be good to go. Will it boot if you change the drive back to the raid array? It should, if you have the boot sequence set correctly in BIOS. |

What motherboard are you using to install XP on. If you're using the TH7II-RAID, you can get the up-to-date drivers from Abit's website. http://fae.abit.com.tw
I have the TH7II-RAID and had a mess getting it started. Go there and find the XP drivers. Put them on floppy and you're off. |
