cd audio burn
Am not sure if this is the right forum, if not please send to the proper one. My problem just happened this morning and I can not figure it out.
I have Liteon 48x12x48 with the lastest Nero release 5.5.99. I have had this burner since its release and have burned many audio and data cds. After backing up my work today I decided to burn an audio cd from several cd's. When I tried to burn several tracks to my hard drive to save for putting on the new cd I could not burn any tracks to the harddrive. The window showing the progress of the burn will not open in any format IE; MP3, WAVE ect. The cd copy program works and I can still save any data, but cannot save any tracks to the hard drive. I have tried changing the read settings and reinstalling Nero. I have had Nero for years with all the releases and have never had this problem. I also have the MS patch addressing cd burning issues. I have XP home edition and until today did not have a problem. Any help is appreciated. CPU temp is 114 f, system temp is 86 f. No other puter problems. My system is as follows: I Will KK266 Plus R 1.1 Athlon T-bird 512 MB memory Liteon 48x12x48 cd burner MS XP Home edition 340 w power supply Nvida Gforce 3 64mb memory seagate barracuda 40g harddrive |

HI hoffmanron,
I'm not an XP guy, but the first thing I'd look for is: how much free drive space do you have?? TwoRails |

so much for something easy, eh?? The few times I've run into something simular, it's been the Temp directory on one of my partitions was full or the like...
Again, I'm not an XP guy, so I can't think of anything else right now... TwoRails |

I think you're on to something, Tuf! Hoffmanron, are these newer CDs?? If so, try some older ones to see if they work or not.

Have you tried a 3rd party ripping program such as CDEx?
