Multiple user problems...
I am running windows XP professional and I am having at least two very annoying problems. The first being that when I open MS office I get a message saying that it cannot setup the required files but if I hit cancel it simply goes into the program, same thing with powerpoint. Now internet explorer cannot open up more then one window without problems, if I manually open a second window it gives an error signature of iexplore.exe and msctf.dll. And if I click on a link that automatically opens up a second explorer window both windows just close down. Now this is where the problem becomes wierd, it only happens on one user account and not on the others.

What kind of user is the one that you are having problems with? Are they an admin user, power user or just a user? Is this a work machine or a home machine?

I solved the problem, it is an admin account that I was having problems with and its a home machine. One of the other error messages I was getting involved sptip.dll and iexplore.exe, upon opening up the dll files in notepad I saw something about speech regognition. Anyways after looking on the internet and the help feature within windows I finally figured out how to access the language controls and delete the speech recognition option, this has solved both problems. I makes sense to me that this was infact the source of the problem not just a convenient solution as the language options are user based and the problems are user based. Thanks for the reply though mairving.
