funny file names
Please help
I uninstalled winME from my lap top which has a bugged acdrom. the c drive still has the names of files and directories but its in funny characters and with no extensions. please help to retrieve these documents. |

Are you going to reinstall your OS from a recovery disk? Not sure what you mean by a bugged cd-rom?

If the file name is corrupted, what about the contents? Did you try to copy the file to another computer and open it?

See if there are any trial/free downloads from fixit utilities/ontrack.
They have a file undeleter that can regain a whole formatted os for you if you do your part. It helps to know the file extensions. |
