Logon Box disappeared
Hi. I reinstalled 98 through the cab files located under Windows\Options on a friends office computer. Now the logon screen does not come back on.
What I have done so far is switched NIC's. Toggled settings under Network Properties. Including removing network properties 1 at a time and then all before adding them on again. I am restarting for every change I make in between steps. Anyone run into this before? |

Do you have Client for Microsoft Windows as the primary logon?
Are any other computers on the network visible in Network Neighborhood? Are all the necessary protocols bound to the NIC? Did you re-setup File and Printer Sharing? In Client for Microsoft Windows, did you check "Quick Logon"? (in the "Properties") . . . Gary |

Client for Microsoft Networks
Entire Network not available (thus no other computers visable) TCP\IP installed (network only uses TCP\IP) but added netbeui for good measure, then took it off. File and Print sharing installed Toggled between 'Quick logon' and 'Logon and Restore Network Connections" just to see if there were any differences. Restarted after every step or change and still naught. Last edited by Jade; 09-10-2002 at 11:00 AM. |

Strange case. Nothing in the Startup folder, or the Startups listed in msconfig? any TweakUI settings running? Nothing unusual in Device Manager?
. . . Gary Haven't seen this one before. I'll ask/& look around, see if anyone's seen this one |
