How do you get IE to actually remember to open up in a certain text size setting? I have a shortcut to the text size change option on my IE, and I have to constantly change from Medium to Smaller.
Is there another way to do this? I want it to open up only in the 'Smaller' text size. Thanks.

Just a cool tip for those that don't know:
If you have a wheel mouse, you can hold down ctrl while scrolling up and down to change font sizes in IE4-IE6. I know this isn't the answer to your problem (Tuf seems to have done that) but it seemed to fit in the subject. |

Dilly I use the scroll wheel as well. Ignoring font sizes works well on most pages but some pages render kinda funny.

Hi Guys, me again...
I tried the 'Tools/Internet Options/General/Accessibilty/Ignore font sizes' for some time - but I found that it gets in the way of several things, and the way several webpages are displayed. What made me go back to set my IE to not 'ignore the font sizes' was that the font sizes seemed to be out of my control within Outlook Express as well. (I use both Outlook and OE). So, for now, I am stuck with the option of manyallu changing the text size via the Text icon on my IE tool bar, and of course the Cntrl > Mouse Wheel trick. I guess it will take Microsoft a couple of more versions to get to a not so 'important' problem like this huh? Let's all get back to this post if we do come up with something. Again, THANKS so much fellas. I really appreciate this. Rasu. |

Well, I have never had that problem, but did you know SP1 for IE6 was just released a couple of days ago??
Install that and see if it helps. |

It so much a Microsoft thing as people not coding web sites to scale for different resolutions and when we change font sizes applications don't necessairly scale properly either. Tweaking is not a perfect science.

Hey guys,
I actually installed the SP1 for IE6 yesterday morning. No joy there as far as the text size issue was concerned. I guess for now it is a matter of us getting used to a setting - until there are actual standards to the way web pages are coded or tweaked, as Tuf pointed out! Thanks guys. Let's all get back to this post if we do come up with something, whenever! |
