Sound Focusing

Is there a way to set the sound to one program only?

for example, if I'm listening to winamp and I have AIM running, I don't want to hear doors slamming and such. I know you can turn the sounds off but that's just an example

Well each program such as aim as a options were you can turn off the sound. You would have to go into each applacition and turn of the sound for it.
