Hi russchar,

Do you have 2 hard drives installed on your computer and they both have WinXP installed on them? Or did you replace 1 hard drive with another, installed WinXP on it and are now getting the boot manager screen at startup?

If you do have 2 hard drives installed with WinXP on both of them, that's why the boot manager screen at startup.

Did you want a dual-boot system?

I only have one hard drive installed. I replaced one with another. The original went bad.

Hi russchar,

You have only 1 hard drive with WinXP installed on it...hmmm, I don't know why you're getting the boot manager at startup. Did you install WinXP while the old hard drive was installed?

How is your new hard drive partitioned?

I think there's a way to edit the boot loader for WinXP, but I've never done it before so can't help you much more here. Sorry.

Maybe another forum member can help you with this.

Press the Windows and Pause/Break key together. In the box that opens select the Advanced tab. Click the Startup and Recovery button. Make sure the correct operating system is listed as default and then remove the tick from the checkbox for "Display list of Operating Systems for"
