Windows XP service Pack 1? Have you tried it yet?

I am afraid to install it yet until I get your opinions friends.

Most Importantly doesnt make your system worse than it was.

Some have reported it to make the system faster than it was.

If you decide to install it you can order it from MS on a CD-ROM ... just pay about $10 bucks for shipping and then wait.

I have it installed and so far no problems,I cant say I notice any difference in the way my rigs working, think it must be mostly security enhanced features with the svc pack.

Smile

Been running fine since it was installed. Most problems floating around are because of illegal or pirated copies.

I got it through Windows Update last Sunday and have had no problem at all. I too, don't really notice any difference. I noticed an earlier post about waiting on cable to download. That didn't really make a difference for me. I have a very fast cable connection, but it still took over an hour since MS was only able to download at about 12k/sec. I'm sure their servers are very busy.

About a month ago I broke down and used the Corporate Windows Update site and downloaded all the updates to my HDD...I format very often, and got tired of doing around 40mb worth of Windows Updates every time...

I'm glad SP1 was finally released.

It's quite easy to tell exactly what you are "saying" and be warned that such discussions around here are not allowed and are always dealt with. Please consult the FAQ for more info.

I have some minor problems with it. For some reason, it causes Outlook XP to slow down quite a bit. Other versions of Outlook don't seem to have any problems.
