Is there any way to re-install W2K without affecting and losing my OUTLOOK mail file?

To run a repair of 2000 or XP, set the bios to boot to the cdrom, insert and boot to the cd. You will see and initial option of recovery by means of recovery console, skip this step and go on to the install option. After the setup detects your previous installation you will find the option to do a fresh install or run the repair. Select repair and there you go. Basically it will reinstall on top of your original setup and retain most of your setting and files including all users settings the only exception to this is if a users profile is corrupt. Some of your software/drivers may have to be reinstalled including any MS updates.
