if no one responds by tonight I'll look on my laptop, as I don't have it with me right now.

There is a trick to getting it to come up, but haven't accessd it in a long time and forgot.

hang tough...in the meantime try looking for websites with tips&tricks for Win2K, I'm sure there will be something. This has been an issue with win2k for while.

Hi wide angle,

I just checked my work computer and I can't find BOOT.INI in Win2000.

If anyone would know where the start file in Win2000 is, it would be glc.

Open My Computer go Tools | Folder Options | View tab and remove th tick for "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)".

Accept the warning and boot.ini will be in the root of your C drive

ini or outie

boot.ini is hidden you have to select show all files. Go to windows explorer then click tools then click folder options then click on the tab for view then select "show hidden files and folders". You will also want to make sure that the "Hide protected operating system files" is NOT selected. Then do a refresh if needed the viola! Boot.ini should appear.

You'll also need to select "show hidden files and folders".
