XP VGA Problem

I just built a computer and everything was going decently. I installed my video driver from Gainward and my colors became all mixed up. I tryed to go into the display settings but XP froze up. I reinstalled and downloaded the drivers from nvidia and they also messed with my colors and will not allow me to access my display settings. Right now my colors are so messed up that i can't even see what I'm typing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Athlon XP 2100
Gigabyte- 7VRXP Mobo
Ti4200

just installed latest Bios update and i have no idea what is wrong

a few things i can think of... and only since i had experienced this myself...

1. (probably not the problem) could be the psu... what brand & wattage do you have?

2. power down... take out the vid card... reseat it thoroughly... especially if it's an AGP slot... those can be touchy once in a while...

3. have you checked for any XP patches/upgrades for your card?

Best of luck

Sounds as though it didn't like those drivers. Did the Gainward work with the XP drivers when you first installed it?

Try Last Known Good Configuration to roll back.

Switch on the PC.

Press F8 after the Memory count.

If a menu appears asking you which operating system you want to start, press F8 again.

In the Windows Advanced Options Menu, highlight "Last Known Good Configuration" and press Enter.

If another menu appears asking which Operating System to start, highlight Windows XP (Home or Professional, depending on which version you have installed) and press Enter.

Ya my thoughts exactly mike, it didn't like the drivers. The drivers from WinXP worked(just standard stuff) but I wanted the nvidia stuff so i can get better performance.
i don't know what to do. it won't let me roll back my drivers, says their weren't any to roll back to.
i would try your idea but then it would go back to standard drivers and i wouldn't be able to play any games.
help please, someone
