Hi johnatan, welcome to PC Mech,
Looks you might have the ATI All In Wonder Radeon.
Try totally uninstalling your video drivers completely and reinstalling them. This is suggested because video card drivers are more complex than other hardware drivers. You'll need the ATI Video Driver CD or a downloaded set of ATI drivers before you begin.

In Control Panel go to the Add/New Hardware wizard, then click Next until the wizard says : Do you want Windows to search for your new Hardware?
select No and click Next
select Display Adapter, click Next
leave Manufacturer on (Standard Display Types) and on right frame select Standard Display Adapter (VGA) click Next until you get to Finish.
Restart computer.
This just unistalled your ATI video drivers.

Now repeat the above to actually install the Standard Display Adatper (VGA).
Restart computer.

Repeat the above to install the drivers except now you will choose "Have Disk" when the wizard tells you to select the manufacturer of your device. Through the "browse" button point the wizard to where you drivers are and hit enter and continue until they are installed.
Restart computer.

See if that solves it, if not, post back here and tell us exactly what's going on. Don't be afraid to give too many details, that'll keep us from too much wild guessing.
Hope This Helps

Hi TimPoet Thank you for reply I tried to do it but it didn`t work out, infact I went to such a mess that I was busy for 10h on the computer before I manage to bring it back to the same point. It`s look like something to do with hard drive&therefore I have to clean everything &start building from scratch it`s too much for me but thank u anyway realy appreciate.

was just gonna reply to your last post when your PM came in. Thanks for the personal touch, I was searching Google to see if I could find more info. about hook.dll.
Problem is I don't have much practical experience (despite the kinda goofy titles they give us which only counts how many posts we've added) in this type of thing.
10 hours is a long time, but then again I have heard several times that a computer mainetenance session always lasts about twice as long as you expect....
Ugh.
Yeah, a complete reformat of HDD sometimes seems the easier way to go and it starts you out with such a clean slate.... Just make sure you have all your drivers stored before you wipe the Hard Disk clean, so you can load them easily without having to hunt all over your room and the internet for them.
Good luck. You know, I know this is new to you here, so here are some hints to get a good amount of advice on this forum.

1. Make the entry in the Post Subject box eye-catching. Something more pertaining to your problem. That is all we see when we look at New Messages to see if we can help someone. "Windows 98" is rather broad in meaning. Something like, "Help, Hook.dll trying to kill my computer!!" may get more response. Or something in between.

2. Be very detailed in what the problem is, what happened right before it occured. List all your specifications on hardware and software. Is this a new build you just finished or is it a brand name computer you inherited 12 years from your uncle. Don't worry about too many details, it'll help us zero in on the problem and lower frustration.
