Thanx for the info oem_guy_2k2; seeing the number of times its been mentioned here, seems like it will make the FAQ before long.
All this WPA makes it rather dicey to try to be legal; esp. when the information is out there .. at times makes us look like fools when the mods go close a thread or warn. I wonder what came first though, that MS knew how to change it or that they read it from a warez site

It never makes the mods look like fools to stop discussions of piracy... In fact i would warrant that the discussions here have deterred piracy, and encouraged people to get legal. This info from MS is just another way for people to get legal.
Although MS doesnt mention any legalaties in the info, it's assumed that if you do follow these instructions or use the provided tool, that you use a leagally purchased key inorder to re-validate your XP installation. After all, who knows what personal info MS can gather after using the tools. |
