XP SP1 question ??

I downlloaded XP SP1 and install on my PC but before the end of installation it pops me up an error message saying.

Product key is invalid - contact your admin..... etc.

I installed my XP from copied CD. is this the cause of the problem or some other reason.

Please advice. thanks

You have an illegal copy of XP, thats the problem. Microsoft built in to the SP1 all the illegal keys that have been going around the internet. And making it so you cannot install SP1.

If you buy a copy, you will get a unique key to use. It doesn't really cost that much.

Its no longer like the old days of Windows98 and ME.
