Clearing saved pages in Win2K

I recieved the following from a former coworker.... I also refered him to PC Mech and this tread...hopefully he will post

Quote:
When I save a web page using "save as" in the file menu in IE..ive noticed that the drop down list for the file name stores the past saves. I use a public computer at work and have saved some possible jobs to disk unaware that I was leaving traces that I ws looking for another job.

im useing W2K Pro. Clean the disk did not solve the problem. It did get rid of the saved pages but the entries are still in the drop down list...

I have run out of ideas.... Any help will be appreciated

Try creating a new user, logging off and logging on as the new user. Open a web page, go File | Save As and you will find that the drop down list is empty.

The list is stored in a part of the registry that changes for each logged on user. The actual keys and data are read in from the NTUSER.DAT file for the user logging on and are written back to this file at logoff.

As there is a separate NTUSER.DAT for each user there is no chance of accidentally viewing the file locations or names.
