Hi force_flow2002,

Write down the exact error message in the BSOD next time you get it and post it here.

Check out this link for help with known Win98SE shutdown issues.

*smacks head* I should have figured that out earlier. Oh well...

When you said I should post the error message, does that mean you want all those numbers?

Hi force_flow2002,

The more info you can provide, the better.

Try to look for the part of the error message that has a bunch of letters together with maybe a period mixed in somewhere. That might help indicate what type of file is involved.

Do you have Norton Antivirus installed? If you do, did you disable the option to scan floppy disks when you exit Windows?

Can you provide your system specs and maybe a list of all the background applications running on your system. If you have a lot of icons next to the clock, you have a lot of background applications.

Alright, next time I get the BSOD, I'll post what it says.

Yes, I know about the progs running in the background; I always try to keep them down to a minimum.

Thanks!

Cricket, where do you find that option. I have looked everywhere in my NAV 2002 and can't find anything about it.

Thanks, Scott

Sorry.

No, I turned off NAV. I do have NIS and a Sygate firewall running. I turned everything else off.

Here are my specs (that I know, anyway):
Quote:
ATI Rage II 4MB
Cyrix 6x86MII 300MHz (234MHZ)
HSP56 MicroModem
Gigabyte ALADIN5
96MB RAM
OPTi Sound Card
Sony 8x4x32 burner
Lite-on 48x CD-ROM drive
CNet 10/100 Ethernetcard
FUJITSU MPE3136AT 13GB HDD
HPQuantum Maverick 265MB HDD
Here are the BSOD messages I got:
Quote:
Fatal exception 0E has occurred at 017F:BFF9DFFF
Quote:
Fatal Exception 0D had occurred at 179F:00008FB3
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
