XP registration

Help me to understand this. I just built my computer and have installed XP(oem) on it. Now I have to register it online and that will be the end of it.
BUT:
What if six months down the road I want to build another computer and I want to install the XP disk that I have already paid for on it? Can this be done? I am not trying to con microsoft, I just think that if I take the XP OS off my first PC, I should be able to install it on my new PS. What is the deal here???????

Yes you can, If you uninstall the existing installation from the original PC. The hardware identifier resets itself every 4 months so you should be able to re-activate via the internet. If not a simple call to MS will allow you to activate on the new PC.
