XP registration
Help me to understand this. I just built my computer and have installed XP(oem) on it. Now I have to register it online and that will be the end of it.
BUT: What if six months down the road I want to build another computer and I want to install the XP disk that I have already paid for on it? Can this be done? I am not trying to con microsoft, I just think that if I take the XP OS off my first PC, I should be able to install it on my new PS. What is the deal here??????? |

Yes you can, If you uninstall the existing installation from the original PC. The hardware identifier resets itself every 4 months so you should be able to re-activate via the internet. If not a simple call to MS will allow you to activate on the new PC.
