cdrom missing
hi everyone i think i messed up and need help i have win xp
while in the regestry i deled a few keys ,which i should not have long story short in my computer my cdrom and cd burner no longer show up hep me get them back thank you |

I think what Doug meant was have you been able to try the System Restore feature that is built-in to Windows XP: this program could restore missing system files and registry settings to a time prior to your cd-drives disappearance. If you have Windows 2000, rather than Windows XP, you can try booting from your Windows 2000 installation disk and selecting the "repair" option. . . . post back if none of this helps . . . Gary |

cdrom missing
my system restore thats built in went on the blink a few days ago
so i unable to go back to a previous date, restore progress bar shows restoring files and almost when completed freezes any is appreciated thanks |

Try booting with the XP cd and doing a repair. Even though the CD is not seen in XP itself, it should still boot with it, that's a BIOS function.
