Media Player & MP3's

I have Media Player 6.4, and it doesn't support MP3's. Is there a .dll available that will allow me to listen to MP3's without upgrading to version 7 or 7.1? These versions don't run well on my aging computer.

Just get Winamp. I haven't tried Winamp 3 yet, but my brother hated it. They still have version 2 available, and it is probablly less of a resource user than 3, but that's just my guess.

If that doesn't work for you there are so many players out there that you can download. Just go to www.mp3.com or www.cnet.com research and download the one for you.

That doesnt seem right to me. WMP should play mp3 files out of the box. What it doesnt do is encode mp3 files without a plugin. I use the Cyberlink mp3 plugin to rip mp3's. It works ok but not aswell as audiograbber.

I agree that AudioGrabber is probably one of the best CD rippers around.

I agree with you completely that it will play mp3's out of the box; but what it could be is something got broken. It happened to me once, it wouldn't play mp3's. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, deleted the directory and tried again and it just wouldn't work. I (not saying he has to do this) but I had to reinstall the entire OS and everything else. But when I was done everything was working great.

Don't worry about it. WMP is WiMPy, and way more of a resource hog than Winamp.
