New Installation - File copy error ? ? ?
I am installing Win2K Pro from a new CD, purchased today. The installation is halted becasue of file copy error. Ex: "The file ntdsa.dll was not copied correctly." The the rest of this message reads, " The file Setup placed on your hard drive is not a valid Windows 2000 system image., or there may be problems with the Windows 2000 CD."
The reason I purchase this new Win2K CD was that I was having problems copying from my old CD. I did a fresh format before I started the installation. Any suggestions?? Thanks - Henry ![]() PS - Now on this install, it wants me to insert, "CD with Servic Pack 1". The new CD is suppose to have SVPK 2 included. Last edited by haptry; 09-29-2002 at 01:48 AM. |

I would run a lens cleaning CD in the CD drive, and then check/swap the RAM and run diags on the hard drive.

Download diag software from the hard drive manufacturer.
