Add New Hardware/Wave Device for Voice Modem
Whenever Win98 is starting up during boot up I am getting a Add New Hardware message box that says "Wave Device For Voice Modem". Whenever I try to install the driver from the Windows98 diskette another message tells me that "driver not found".
Why am I getting this message? Where do I find the correct driver? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Hi, again, elephantsfly!
You need to install the drivers from the modem's install CD. This may be related to your other problem. Maybe pull you modem and delete it and try to narrow you problems down to one. Chasing multi-problems is a problem in itself. HtH TwoRails |

Driver Disk?
I don't know which disk is the disk that contains the driver. I have a "Fax/Modem Suite - Smith Micro v.5.1 - AOpen" disk but I tried to use it to install the driver but the driver was not detected on that disk. I don't know of any other diskette I received with this system that might have the correct driver on it...any suggestions?

Hi elephantsfly,
That's the disk it's on. You'll have to browse the CD when installing to find it. It could be anywhere, but common places are like Win98, Drivers, and Bin directories. TwoRails |
