"Processes" in WinXP...what proc for what prog

Is there an easy way or a program to identify the processes that are running as to what programs they are for?

After my reinstall, with very few programs loaded back in, there still seems to be a lot running, more than I want. Now maybe it's not a big deal with 512mb ram, I just don't like things running that I don't know about or why.

I have done searches for the .exe's to find out where they are located so I know about the programs I have installed, but there are things running, and maybe they should be, that i don't why they are there.

I just don't want to blindly accept what MS feels it should be running on my behalf.

thanks again!

I think most of the processes are Windows XP services, here you'll find a list of those services, their job, and what can be disabled to free resources.
