Do I understand that with ME you can no longer run a DOS based program? I have data stored since 1986 accessed by First Choice word processor. Or can the DOS prompt be found somewhere within the ME operating sys. and DOS programs loaded and run from there? Or would the better bet be to upgrade to Win 98 SE? I currently have Win 95 OSR2.

Please advise,

Thanks, God Bless,

Robert J.

With Me you can't boot to dos like you can 98 or 95 but you still have the dos promt option and many dos based games and programs still run under ME! As far as your program I
really don't know if it will run maybe someone else on the board can answer your question better.

with Windows ME boot disk you can use dos
I don't think you can run EMM386.EXE with the ME Boot disk

But you should just be able to use a Win 95 boot disk
for old dos programs

Send a message via ICQ to doltish
Rob, the only difference now is that Windows ME doesn't rely on DOS to run like its predecessors, and you can't boot to dos without a boot disk.

If you've run these programs in a DOS Prompt within Windows 98 or 95 they will work in ME as well.
