Hi Mr XP,

Yes, you can save those files to your hard drive. Right click on the file link and choose "Save Target As...". When the "Save As" box opens, browse to a folder you want to save the files to and click the Save button. The file will download into that folder and you can listen to it with RealPlayer or Media Player whenever you want to.

This doesn't work for every type of multimedia file though.

The other thing that you can do is to go to your Temporary Intenet File Folder after it has completed and the use Copy/Paste to save it where you want it. Just remember that you may have to increase the size of the Temporary Intenet File Folder in the Internet Explorer Properties.

It's actually a link to a internet radio program which goes for 3 hours and yet when you save it, it's about a 100kb which doesn't make sense.I think you must have to connect to the net to listen to it anyone else care to give me their thoughts???

Also my desktop icon on my quick launch bar seems to have dissapeared anyone know how to get it back?(xp home ed?)
Thanks........

u r right mr.xp.its not an actual file;its a shortcut.when u click on most real audio links on Net,u download a .ram file.the file only contains info about where the ACTUAL file is.so realone can startup and do the "buffer".if u want to download the actual file, here is how.
right cilck on the link, click Save Target as.then open that file with Notepad(drag the .ram file into notepad window)....NOT realone!.u should see a url that ends with .ra.that's the actual file.now open up realone.and look around in the options to tell real one not to associate with real format files.then copy/paste that url from notepad into IE,it will popup a download dialog!save the file!..now u have the actual file!.
ya...lil hard.eh?u have to turn on and off the file association with realone and real format files. or you can just turn off the file associatin.when u want to listen to real files, open up realone, and drag the file onto realone.
*sings Avrila lagrie's complicated*=)

Get rid of Realplayer. It's total spyware. It's latest is real nasty to nuke it's spyware from your registry.

Get winamp 2.7 but not 3.0 and get a stream ripper which works on the fly.
