Windows 98 Startup Menu

When my PC boots up the windows 98 start menu comes up does any one know how to get rid of it. below is the menu which appears

Microsoft Windows 98 Startup Menu

1. Normal
2. Logged (\BOOTLOG.TXT)
3. Safe mode
4. Step-by-step prompt only
5. Command prompt only
6. Safe mode command prompt only

Enter a Choice

I believe it is thru the msconfig utility, and under advanced look for the startup menu box to be checked. If it is, then that is why you are getting that, so just uncheck it and reboot to fix your prob.

Hi ltr,

That will also happen if your system detects a hardware conflict or problem. Did you do something to it recently?

Follow the above instructions and if it works to keep the Boot Menu from appearing, then your computer is okay. But if the Boot Menu keeps appearing, you'll have to figure out why.
