pcmcia card problem under win 95
hi
at the house where i and some other students live we're trying to build a lan. one of the people who lives ther has a portable (toshiba satelite 210 cst) with runs win 95 the taskbar has no pcmcia icon but when i look under hardware [properties and ask for details he says the pcmcia controler works perfectly jet on insertion of a pcmcia card no additional hardware is found. |

ps. i just tested the card i was using in an other pc and the card works perfetly

I've had the same problem; my dad has a Dell Latitude XPi I think, or something like that... ancient 75 MHz cpu. basically, we needed to find DOS-based PCMCIA card service drivers; that is, we actually had to download drivers to get DOS to see the cards, and then Windows seemed to follow suit, as I recall.... it was quite a while ago, and we haven't made alot of changes recently, so haven't had to worry about it... In any case, there doesn't seem to be much on the toshiba website, so I'm not sure what else to tell you... perhaps try driverguide.com, or similar sites.... ::shrugs::

i tryed driverguide and i mailed toshiba, but i have not gotten a responce.
you have given e an idea thoug next week i'll try to deinstall and reinstall the pcmcia driver under widows and see what happens. thank you for thew input i'll keep you posted |
