Better way is to boot directly from CD

The purpose of the boot disk was to boot from this disk into dos mode to prepare the hard drive for a windows install. This was the past.
For this purpose boot disks are no longer needed for a couple of years because Windows 98 was the first home windows that came on a bootable CD, means that you directly boot from CD, prepare the hard drive, and install Windows.
The only purpose that boot disks still have is to boot into pure DOS for a BIOS upgrade if Windows ME, NT, 2K or XP is installed (coz they have no DOS anymore and most BIOS flash programs are still for DOS).
