Help me with this restart loop, nothing works!
I have cross posted this (from the hardware forum) because it might be software issue. My apoligies if this cross post is a crime, I am just so desperate for an answer!!!!!
For those of you who recall my previous posts you will remember my problem. I built a system for my boss on hardware reccomendations from this forum and 3 times now, the system will run about 5 days and then go into this perpetual restart loop to which it cannot get out of. I have posted the links to my previous posts below so you can read up on what I tried and fixed. This is very frustrating! http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread....hlight=adrianse http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread....hlight=adrianse Although I have not physically seen the computer this time around yet, they say it's doing the same thing. The computer boots up, goes straight to the "safe mode menu" screen and when you select an option it starts going and then BOOM restarts. Not only is this embarrasing, it's driving me crazy because it is totally stumping me and nothing seems to work on the fixes you guys have suggested which means we are using the wrong fix. Why would it run a week though and then have the problem? HELP!!!! Resolving MS-DOS loop issues in Windows 95 and Windows 98
Issue: When running an MS-DOS based application, the computer may become trapped in a MS-DOS loop, where restarting the computer does not bring you back to Windows. This can happen if you start an application from the Run MS-DOS Applications shortcut and then restart without going back into Windows. The computer defaults to the Config.sys and Autoexec.bat files that were used by the shortcut and starts to a command prompt. try this.hope this helps |
